On September 28th, Minister Joly outlined the government’s new direction towards a Creative Canada. This new vision will allow cultural entrepreneurs to innovate and create new projects for today’s digital reality. An example of how we are making cultural content a priority is by increasing the federal contribution to the Canada Media Fund. We have also reached an agreement with Netflix where the company is investing $500 million in original productions in Canada over 5 years. Canadian content will now not only be celebrated in our country, but worldwide.
